Our Approach
Edifying Cognitive Solutions Group is a privately owned mental health organization conveniently located in Accokeek, MD. We offer comprehensive behavior health services for children and adults. The approach we use is called “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.” This approach examines the thoughts people are having and the influence they have on their feelings and behaviors, as a way to assist them in reaching their goals. It is important for you to know that in this approach we will be working as a team; we will focus on satisfying your goal(s); and you will learn skills that will aid you to become your own counselor.

Meet Aziz HeardAziz Heard, LCPC, NCC, AS

Mr. Heard received his Bachelor’s degree in Pedology: Child Studies from Bowie State University, Bowie, MD; and his Master’s degree in Counseling Services from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
He provides direct care clinical services and has managed an outpatient mental health clinic, psychiatric rehabilitation program and completed his clinical internship at a child and adolescent partial hospitalization program. Mr. Heard also volunteers with youth programs within Prince George’s County, Maryland-- promoting life skill development, self-esteem building and community service.
He is committed to providing exemplary mental health services to individuals and families who entrust him with their care.
